Watch a short video on our Singapore Architectural Style prints.

The Art Deco Shophouse is a later variation of the late and transitional shophouse style. It’s features are inspired by the art deco movement of the 1920s in Europe and the US and elements can be seen in Singapore in houses from the 1930s to the 1960s. Art Deco Shophouses are characterised by straight, geometrical features. The flag post on top of the house is often seen along with the typical date plaques.

In our poster, we have captured a two storey building of the fictional Nanyang Trading Company. The characters on top mean “Nanyang” and the characters above the door mean “trading”. We have featured the birth year of the Singaporean republic on the date plaque at the top of the building.

The dimensions of the print are 30cm by 40cm. A frame is not included. Please note that there may be some small variance as the prints are hand-cut.
